# What funders look for in your bank statements

Your last 4 months of business bank statements are the most important part of your application. Here's what funders read in them.

## Monthly deposits

The money coming into your business account each month is the starting point. Funders often size a first advance somewhere around one month of deposits. They'll look past one-time deposits like transfers between your own accounts or loan proceeds to see your true sales.

## Activity, not perfection

Money coming in matters more than growth. Seasonal businesses and slower months are normal; funders look at the overall pattern across several months.

## Average daily balance

A healthy balance shows the business can handle daily or weekly payments comfortably.

## Negative days and returned payments

Funders count days the account went negative and payments that bounced. A few aren't automatically a dealbreaker, but fewer is better.

## Existing advances

Funders can see other funders' daily or weekly payments in your statements. Be upfront about open advances on your application; it builds trust and helps us send your file to funders who work with your situation.

## Send clean statements

Download PDFs directly from your bank rather than screenshots, include every page, and send all accounts the business uses. Complete files get answers faster.
